If this is your first visit with Dr. Bathija, we ask that you review the following information about allergy testing. Based on her detailed history and physical examination, Dr. Bathija will determine if allergy testing is warranted, so before your initial visit:
1.- Please discontinue all antihistamines or medications which have the following agents for one week prior to your appointment:
- Claritin (loratidine)
- Benadryl (diphenhydramine)
- Zyrtec (cetirizine)
- Allegra (fexofenadine)
- Cold Allergy Medications
- Atarax (Hydroxyzine)
Please take all of your other medications as prescribed by your physician.
2.- Please discontinue medications which have the following agents for two days prior to skin testing appointment
- Zantac (Ranitidine)
3.-Skin testing will be performed on the back and arms. You will be asked to change into an examination gown.
4.- Small red lesions may be noticeable on the back and arms for 3-5 days after skin testing. As such, please be aware of above especially if planning to wear sleeveless or backless clothing soon after skin testing.
5.- Eat a small meal 1-2 hours before skin testing appointment.
6.- Notify the physician or office staff if you have any of the following medical conditions:
- Skin disorders (eczema, psoriasis)
- Organ transplant
- Autoimmune disorders
7.- Notify office staff if you are on blood pressure, heart or glaucoma medications or eyedrops, or if you are on any of the following medications:
- Glaucoma eyedrops
8.- We ask that you please print, fill out and bring the forms below to your initial visit. Thank you.
